Bereavement Counselling is a  aimed at assisting the grieving process.  Grieving is important for healing the wound of separation.  The feelings you experience when you are bereaved are healthy, normal and part of the healing process.  Failure to express them will often lead to more intense reactions, including physical illness or even death.

There is a great deal of research showing that when bereaved people do not receive support and permission to grieve openly, these reactions increase significantly.

Bereavement is a journey through a land of difficult terrain.  People have not known that there was a journey to take because it is not discussed or talked about.  Grief is seen as something that happens to you, it is to be received passively rather than something you take hold of and work through.

History

Ear candling originated in the ancient civilizations of  India, China, Tibet, Egypt, and Native American Indian cultures, thousands of years ago.  All of these cultures utilized ear coning in healing, and spiritual purification.

The knowledge of acupuncture demonstrates how the ears coordinate with the organs in your body.  These ancient cultures used papyrus reeds, corn stalks, clay tubes, and in recent times, rolled newspaper dipped in wax.

What to expect

During an Ear Candling session you lie on your side with your body in a relaxed and straight alignment.  A special conical candle is lit and slowly begins to burn, like a candle.  the (non-burning) end of the candle is placed within an ear cone and this is gently placed into your ear canal. 

The ear candle draws ear wax and fungus deposits from your ear canal.  As the ear candling session progresses, extracted earwax and fungus will be burned off, but a majority will be collected in the bottom part of the candle.   After the candle has burned down and been extinguished, the therapist may show you the contents.  Most people cannot believe what has been collected! 

There is no pain whatsoever.  You will only feel the candle being carefully inserted in your ear.  you may also hear some crackling and popping, from the candle.  All you have to do is relax and enjoy your ear candling session time.

The mechanics of ear candles
The ear candle operates through osmosis.  This is where one chamber (ear candle) is attached to another chamber (ear canal).  The ear candle is trying to equalize pressure to the ear canal.  Since the body is a membrane of tissue with many pores, nooks and crannies, the ear candle will never equalize pressure.  Hence, the ear candle will continually keep working at equalizing pressure.  In turn, the vapours of warm smoke from the candle travel down into the ear canal, middle ear, Eustachian tube, warming up the pores, softening the wax, and soothing irritations.  The fire from the burning candle creates a vacuum dislodging and detoxifying the lymphatic system, clearing the sinuses, and drawing out accumulated debris such as impacted ear wax, Candida, crystallized protein matter, fungus, yeast and infection, into the candle.

Reiki is channelled Universal Life Energy.   

Reiki is a way of activating, directing and applying natural energy for the promotion of health, healing, balance and wholeness.  This form of healing is an holistic creative energy and therefore useful for preventing imbalance, assisting the body's natural healing powers.

The system of Reiki was invented and developed by a man named Mikao Usui (pronounced Me-ka-oh OOh-su-ee) in the early 1900's.  Reiki is often translated to mean "Universal Life Energy", but can also mean enlightenment or the coming of together of the Universal Spirit of Creation with our own. 

At its most basic level, Reiki is a set of five principles for living, a set of hand positions for treating self and others, and the receiving of an attunement to connect to the reiki energy.  An attunement (or empowerment) is a simple ceremony that helps you to reconnect to the energy that is reiki performed by a Reiki teacher or "master".  There are three levels in Reiki.  In level one, you learn the reiki principles, the hand positions and then receive an attunement.  In level two, you learn the three reiki symbols, distance healing and receive another attunement.  In level three, you learn the reiki master symbol, the attunement process, how to teach, and receive the master attunement.

Reiki works by simple laying of hands and intent.  It helps brings us back into harmony with the Universal life energy.  This is often healing.  In reiki you do not use your own energy but let this loving Universal life energy flow through you to others. 

People who do reiki are often called "reiki channels" or that one "channels" reiki.  This word "channel" has several meanings in the new age communities and in common use might mean "channel" as in spirits.  It needs to be clearly stated here that reiki is not about channelling spirits or energies.  The word "channel" here in relation to reiki simply means that we are in tune with this Universal life energy and let it flow.

TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) Massage technique is used to stimulate the Qi (chee), or energy meridians within the body and relax the body.

It is part of the Traditional Chinese system of health care, which was developed in ancient China more than 4,000 years ago.

According to Chinese Medicine, all sensations of pain, swelling and illness are a result of a disturbance or blockage of the flow of an energy called Qi. 

It was found that some conditions, including internal ones, could be relieved and treated by pressing "tender" spots.  These "tender" spots were eventually categorised in a systematic manner and linked to a network of interconnecting channels that carry the vital Qi.  This is how the theory of Acupressure (and Acupuncture) and the meridian (channel) systems were developed.

How does it work?
TCM Massage uses techniques such are rubbing, pressing, squeezing of larger areas and finger pressure on Acupressure points to reactivate the body's own healing force, the vital Qi.  Because of the connection between Qi, the meridians and internal organs, TCM Massage can be used as a comprehensive treatment.
